I am working with a rotary on medium paint and moderate defects. I tried the Lake Country Hydro Tech Tangerine polishing pad but not impressed with it. Should I move up to the LC HT Cyan compunding pad that I already own or try one of the Chemical Guys Hex pads - Orange or Green maybe? Hex Yellow is too harsh and I don't need that much cut.

OPT Polish II will work as a one step polish, right? No need for a second step with a finishing polish like Menzerna final Finish etc.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say you "aren't impressed" with the HT Tangerine pad--it's not doing enough defect removal for you? I find that to be a great pad, although I don't use it on a rotary.

You are correct that OP should not require a follow-up. However it may be that you need a more aggressive polish for the defects you are trying to remove.

Thanks. Not impressed with the cut of the pad is what I meant. Maybe those pads work better on a DA.
