My grandfather served in WWII. I still have some silk aviator maps of Japan he gave me. I wish he was still around, I'd love to talk to him about his experiences in the war.

My Father was in the Navy in WWII. He lied about his age to join. He was in the Demolition crew fighting against the Japanese. The demolition crew were considered the 1st Navy Seals before the SEALS were formed.

God bless all who served and are currently serving. If it wasn't for them, we would not have the freedom we have today!

Hoorrraaahh!! Semper Fi and Everyone have a great day!

When I was just a young child, I can remember at family gatherings all the older men recounting their stories of WWII and Korea. At the time it was boring conversation. Now that they're all gone and I'm old enough to appreciate what they did and why they did it, I'd sure like to hear all those stories over again.

Thanks to all who serve and have served, past, present and future.

"They" are not called "The Greatest Generation" for nothing.

We all have a LOT to be thankful for from what those guys (and gals) went thru.

Thousands of brave dedicated men died that day to free Europe from tyranny and the iron hand of Adolph Hitler. If these men could see what this world has tuned into they would surely cry for their blood was shed in vein...

I salute them, the bravery and sacrifice they made on the alter of freedom.... http://www.ar10t.com/media/kunena/emoticons/usa.gif

I was in Berlin Germany for the 60th anniversary for the end of WWll. Germany to this day celebrates this day with sincere thanks and gratitude to America and its allies...
