Hi Guys,

I need some help repainting my interior plastics. I want to sand them and make them look better using rattle cans.

So I took out my center console cup holders and radio bezel on my 99 ford explorer to refinish them because they were starting to fade and look nasty.

They had some kind of thin rubber coating on them which I slowly took off with a plastic razor blade and sanding. I got them down to the bare plastic.

I sanded them to make it smooth and then put about 3-4 coats of sandable and fillable primer. Wet sanded the primer and gave them about 3 coats of paint.

I am about to damp sand the paint with 3000 grit meguiars paper.

My question is "What do I do after I damp sand the paint"?

I want to put a clear coat on them to help them last.

Do I sand them, then polish the paint, wipe down with prep sol then clear coat?

Or do I sand, wipe down with prep sol and clear coat?

This is really my first time paint anything so I'm a little lost.

Thanks for all the help.
