Well remember I mentioned I was looking at purchasing one of these, well I did and it arrived today :righton:

Well where should I start, how about some back ground info on the unit. Well for those that may not know much about this light these are just some spec on the machine my bro Al know's all about it I'm sure ;)

The gun features an automatic shut off in order to prevent leaving it on while unattended. This feature will also help maximize battery and bulb life. By design it will turn off after approximately 50 seconds. The length of time was decided by research and data collected from voice of customer, concept and filed testing.
The true purpose of the gun is for color matching regardless of where the vehicle is located, the time of day, current weather or lighting conditions, it can help you assess and select variant color chips, confirm color-match using test-panels, check for proper metallic lay-out and blend edges for halos.
The Bulb is virtually identical to natural daylight. It will significantly reduce the chance of metamerism occurring and provide an exceptional representation of what the job will look like outside (in natural daylight).
This is incredable, the percentage of light vs natural day light is CRI (Color Rendering Index) = 99.35%. Like I said this is incredable...I have a friend that does street lighting design along with interior design in buildings and he confirmed that that's "probably" the highest CRI value he has seen, the reason he said "probably" is becuase that statement is based on the manufacturers he deals with. But man 99.35% wow, you will see why I'm so impressed with the pictures ;)
The Kelvin rating on the bulb is 4700 K Kelvin
The Lux rating are as follows:
Standard Mode - The Lux rating at 2 or .6 meters is 1416.7
High Intensity Mode - The Lux rating at 2 or .6 meters is 2968.8
The gun features three setings, press the triger once and the gun is operating in standard brigtness move. Press the triger for a second time and the gust boosts lamp brightness to what the manual calls "turbo mode". Press the triger for a thrid time and the gun turns off. The gun comes with a build in fan and a heat sensor. If the gun gets hot it will shut down and the fan will run till it's completely cool down. The manual says that it could take up to 15 minutes before it's completely cool oh and it wont turn on if it gets to hot.Well all the info that I'm posting here comes from the manual, man what a gun...okay enough background now for the pictures:

Nice light Carlos...LOL...I knew you were going to get one after the guy from England was hot for one....they are the best...it shows the true color of the paint for color matching.....and shows all swirls and defects..

be careful with it..the batttery is 98.00 to replace and the bulb is close to 60.00 I think....any ways you got the top of the line light....

Enjoy it and have fun....

Al

Gary, you should have seen my wifes face when she saw that it was "just a light" acording to her hahahaha priceless hahahaha...but then I showed her what it could do and then she just pated me on the back :D

Al, well to be honest Al I had never seen it so cheap and I've been looking at it for a long time. When you posted that place that had it for so cheap I had to get it...oh and yea the battery's and bulbs are not cheap at all..oh get this there is a 3M rep here in town that could sell it to me for about $650 and the cheapest he would go down to is $550 Canadian that is. So it was a good deal. Oh and I may have a vehicle for this weekend to do :righton:...doooo I need to send you, you know what...darn it..okay I'm PM'ing you.

That is a pretty neat tool! It looks more like a power drill than a flash light. :) Dust2Glory is right...you have all the tools! :P I have pretty much decided that I am going down to Seattle to get my 9227. It is $90 cheaper plus I am going down there anyways. I will shoot you a PM soon if you need anything.

Dust2Glory - lol..thanks bro (I think hahaha). I've always enjoyed detailing but now that I know the true meaning of detailing man it's incredable what I can do now. Most of the guys/gals at work call me detailing boy (I'm the hungest in the group so they call me boy hahaha). I shock my self sometimes, co-workers as me something about paint and polishign and I respond as though I've been dong it for years hahaha (must be all the reading I do)...collection is almost complete bro...just two key items missing ;) but there on there way.

FMINUS - Man I'm looking forward to this weekend, one of my co-workers just purchased a brand new BMW...not sure what model but I'm so pumped to detail it..hopefully she will bring it over this weekend. Cute girls with a cute vehicle mmmm...I'll post pictures :D

sneek - well not all the tools, just a few little things missing hahaha..yea my shoping days are numbered though, I prity much got all I need now...I'll be set for a wile...man the day I run out of APC will be the day hahahaha. You know what I tried doing a full polish on my Volvo with the Makita the flat areas like the hood, roof, trunk worked great but the door panels just killed me...I couldn't get the Makita confortable..one thing though I enjoyed the triger...so I'll be giving the Makita as original intentions.

FMINUS - I got it for much cheaper then that, like $100 cheaper. I have been using the Brinkman and it works just fine it's just that this new light is more powerfull and shows all the imperfections...it's like having your own portable sun.

ZoranC and klumzypinoy - It's coming, I need more vehicles though :D

pirex - Hey bro, I don't think you need one of these lights, your always working out side using the natural sunlight...but if your detailing business goes through this is a must have tool bro. Well I'll let you know how good it is as I use it from now on.
