I met up this weekend with some uys from the Corvette forums and with Todd the maic man from Tropical Detailing in Orlando. I had been talking to Todd online for a while about some touchup repairs to my 540 hood. I had attempted the repairs and just wasn't satisfied with the results. Partly a product issue and mostly a talent issue. Anyway, we met up at MRossa's house in New Port Richey, where he provided shelter from the downpour, food, water and endless supplies and equipment. Todd was actually there to do some work on their Corvettes but spent most of his time on my hood. The spots weren't terrible but on black everything shows. We didn't get any before shots but below are some during and after shots. Todd reapplied some paint and wet sanded a couple of cycles, and then pulled out his Menzerna Power Gloss Compound and went to work. Following the PG, he went to Menz SIP, and finished it up with the Menz 106FF. I added a single coat of the Wolfgang DGS til I could get home and finishe the entire car. I usually do 2 coats of the DGS and follow that with the S100 of Souveran liquid wax. I'll et some more pics of the entire car later but for now these will have to do. BTW, Todd is a great guy to meet in person, and his skills are unmatched in my book. he spends as much time educating as he does working.
