Some of the products I have need to be cut with water. I have always cut them with tap water and never had a issue. But while I was cleaning my truck a few days ago it dawned on me that destiled water or other type if water may be better to use.

Any thoughts of this would be great!

When I first started I used distilled water for QD mixes and Glass Cleaners, now I just feel all my cleaners work better using distilled water because its not fighting with hard water in the bottle.

And for that reason is why I'm asking. Never had a issue with hard water spotting but would like to prevent them if possible.

I always use distilled water. I have hard water and so not want to mix anything other than h2o with anything am using on my vehicles. Funny, I shower with the water at least twice each day and never worry about what it is doing to me. I have, however, never found water spots on me. :).

if i were using a glass cleaner concentrate, i would use distilled/purified water for sure. apc's & water based dressings i usually use regular water even though i have a water filtration system...

I use filtered water from the fridge for everything I dilute (GE Smartwater). If a product directions dictate distilled water, I would use that though. A local detailer I buy a few products from told me on their fabric protectant concentrate, it has to be diluted with distilled water. In that case I would. Never had a problem so far with just the filtered fridge water with other things though.
