Hey guys,

I have quite a few paint chips on my car that I last Fall. Unfortunately, a lot of the chips are down to the metal. So my question is: do I use primer on the chips that are down to the metal or is the single stage touch up paint from the dealer sufficient?

Side question: Some of the paint chips have some rust (appears to be light surface rust) on them. What method do you guys use to remove this? Would IronX be good?

Thanks,
Connor

If its down to metal I would use primer that way the repair will almost match the surrounding paint thickness and to ensure that rust won't form under the repair as for the rust I would use a couple applications of iron x to see what it would remove then sand it lightly to remove the remaining rust and to help the paint bond better
