One of my customers gave me a call saying he needed his Rolls Royce Corniche detailed. It wasn't in terrible condition for its age, but it had some oxidation and a few repainted panels with some nasty little imperfections.

As always with single stage paint, my main focus was paint preservation. I knew I wouldn't be able to make it flawless, but I could get it pretty damn close. The owner wasn't concerned about every little rid and small paint defect. He just wanted the car to shine again. I explained to him the situation and got to work.

I tested out Chemical Guys EZ Creme paint glaze and Wolfgang finishing glaze with some white and orange foam pads. This completely restored the gloss and eliminated most of the imperfections on my test spot. I worked my way around the entire car taking my time making 3 to 4 passes per section. I went through quite a few pads and was constantly cleaning the residue off after every section I worked on. I used 3 inch white foam pads for tricky spots like the side mirrors and pillars. Some spots I polished by hand.

Afterwords I applied Chemical Guys Jetseal and topped it off with some Pinnacle Souveran to really make the red pop.

I wish I took more pictures, but my phone was low on battery.

Now for the Miata. The customer found me through the local Miata club and had been following the build threads on my own cars. He saw the work I did on my own 93 classic red Miata and had me take care of his.

Mazda sprayed the paint pretty thin on these cars, so I used a similar approach to correcting with paint glaze, foam pads, and a very light polish on a few tricky spots. Almost all of the oxidation and swirls came right out, leaving behind a nice deep red gloss. The hardtop was removed to be repainted, but I cleaned it up anyways. I went through 4 pads on this car and was constantly cleaning up residue between sections.

Thanks guys. The Corniche did have some nasty orange peel on some panels that received previous body work. I leveled out a few trouble spots with a 3000 Unigrit pad on the DA and used SF4500 to shine it back up. The paint was very soft and easy to correct. The rest of the car responded to machine glazing/polishing very well.
