i would like to say that it was such an honor and a pleasure to meet you and work along side you and all the other people attending the class. this is truly a hands on training class and the vehicles that we worked on were cool in their own right also. this is a must attend class for anyone that is detailing or thinking about detailing. the education and experience you walk away with is hard to explain. there is nothing else out there like this.

it was also nice meeting the other guys and girl from so many parts of the states and the world for the matter. AG really does reach so many people.

if i ever get the chance to be a part of a Thursday night session i will be on the next thing smoking.

I came in there like I never touched anything, just because I wanted to soak up so much!

Great experience, amazing! The crew was outstanding and blessing! Felt good to work hard with everyone!

Mike I came home just waiting on my next car I can get down on! So today was my first day back, got a hold of a customer who wanted his 2008 Maserati detailed, swirls removed!

I was so stoked, because I was able to do what you taught me! Wish I knew how to post pics!

Once again! Thanks to you Mike and being in your class just turned my career around, and just shooting for the moon!

Learning how to work with pictures on a discussion forum isn't hard at all BUT you do have to invest some time reading, a lost art for most people now days, and thinking, another lost art.

My articles show in detail exactly what to do and include PICTURES showing what to do. You'll want to download Easy Thumbnails program which is a free picture resizer as you want to resize the HUGE pictures your camera takes to around 800 pixels wide.

This is 800 pixels wide. Notice how you don't have to horizontal scroll to see the entire picture. If you >right click< on the picture and then select [Properties] for the image you can see it's dimension and how I name all my picture files. This file name is,

May_2014_Detailing_Class_030.jpg

That means it's the 30th picture for this class I've processed out of all the pictures taken.

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/2410/May_2014_Detailing_Class_030.jpg

I use Easy Thumbnails everyday. Everyday. I've been using it for probably a decade now because it works so well and never distorts my pictures. My tutorial article shows you how to set it up.

If you get stuck, just give me a call. I know 10 minutes spent on the phone helping you to get this skill down will result in hundreds of cool pictures on our forum for others to see for a lifetime.

Here's my articles,

How to resize your photos before uploading to a photo gallery (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/tips-techniques-how-articles-interacting-discussion-forums/35250-how-resize-your-photos-before-uploading-photo-gallery.html) - Using Easy Thumbnails

How to upload a photo into your Autogeek Photo Gallery (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-do-different-types-things-ag-discussion-forum/21295-how-upload-photo-into-your-autogeek-photo-gallery.html)

How to insert an image from your photo gallery into your message (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-articles-discussion-forums/21313-how-insert-image-your-photo-gallery-into-your-message.html)

If you share a lot of pictures then you'll want to create dedicated albums for each project. I do this, I create a new album for every project.

How to create dedicated albums in your photo gallery... (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/tips-techniques-how-articles-interacting-discussion-forums/43357-how-create-dedicated-albums-your-photo-gallery.html)

Extra article for capturing defects when taking pictures

How-To capture swirls, scratches, etchings and other surface defects with your camera (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/tips-techniques-how-articles-interacting-discussion-forums/26917-how-capture-swirls-scratches-etchings-other-surface-defects-your-camera.html)

Here's a fun article...

Photography 101 - The low down front grill shot (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/52382-photography-101-low-down-front-grill-shot.html)

So if you really want to learn how to work with pictures on the forum you can do but you have to invest the time to educate yourself via my articles.

For what it's worth, when I first started posting to discussion forums over a decade ago I did not know how to work with pictures on forums and no one helped me, I figured all this stuff out on my own and then in an effort to help others wrote my how-to articles.

So you can do it!

Hi Mike,

Fist of all. I looked at the pics on last detailing session and the results speak for themselves, and of course, your shared knowledge is invaluable and appreciated.

Just to verify. On this class recently held this last weekend, is it the Detailing Class 101 same as Boot Camp? I am kind of confused...

Thanks!

Yes. What used to be Detailing 101 and 102 transitioned to Detailing Boot Camp Class.

We hold these classes three times a year. Currently it's a two day class, Saturday and Sunday.

Next class is the last weekend of September.

How to use Nanoskin Wash Mitts and Towels for Seriously Neglected Paint!

In my detailing classes I show a lot of ways to decontaminate paint. One brand I like to show for REALLY BAD paint are the Nanoskin Wash Mitts and Nanosking Towels.

We use the wash mitts like towels in that they have the same polymerized surface the towel has only they also offer a sleeve to insert you hand and a microfiber side for when you're using the mitt to wash a car. That said, the rubber side works great when used like a towel.

One of the training cars for this class was a 1939 Chevy 5-window Coupe. I don't know the story behind the car but I do know pad in bad shape when I see it and the paint on this car is in BAD shape!

We wiped the car down using a waterless wash and then after a quick demo and explanation on how to use these Nanoskin tools I turned the class loose on the old Couple

As you look through the pictures, also pay attention to how horribly dull and weathered the paint on this car looks.

How to use Nanoskin Wash Mitts and Towels

1. Spray a heavy application of clay of clay lube onto the surface and then rub the mitt or towel over the paint.

2. For light contaminants use light pressure for heavy contamination use firm pressure.

3. After decontaminating one section move onto a new section.

We even used them on the glass and on all the chrome and stainless steel trim.

Key point...

A glossy finish stars with a smooth foundation.
