Finally broke down and bought a foam cannon

I never thought I would buy one because there are a few trees hanging over my driveway and I was okay with 2BM washes and the local touch less car washer. :dunno:

Being so OCD about detailing supplies I bought a few bottles of soap. They are:

CG Mr. Pink
CG Honeydew
Garry Dean's Perfect Soap
Iron X Snow Foam
Megs Gold Class

Yeah I think I went a little over the top. Now for my question.
Other than Dawn, are there and car wash soaps that remove waxes, polymer based sealants and coatings?

To sum it up:

1. No soap removes coatings.

2. No soap removes 90%+ of sealants.

3. CG's Citrus Red MAY remove non hybrid waxes 1oz/1gallon.

I never did use Dawn---(I like Ivory the best, nowadays)---to remove/"strip" LSPs. I use(d) them just to clean some typical contaminates off vehicles.

Now:
As far as Dawn or car-wash shampoos removing/"stripping" LSPs?...
I like these analogies, and think they're apropos for this type of discussion:

it is just another bucket additive type wash (in other words, it is mild surfactant based because you can stick your hands in it). This type of product will not touch a half decent durable LSP. My experience is simply that, either your LSP will not be stripped by such products or your LSP isn't particularly durable. I do accept that there are examples of the latter but I would ask why someone would use an LSP with such limited durability when there are others which will last much better?

For fact I can tell you that there are numerous LSP products (including wax based) in the UK which will not be stripped with dawn/fairy liquid, APC (whether dilute or strong), IPA and even (assuming the finish is not many months old and failing badly) solvent based degreasers (exemplified by the likes of tarminator). I can tell you for sure because we make them.

Do a bit of searching on the topic. I have pushed hard to get the idea of residual surfactant films mimicing LSP stripping and several people have been able to easily replicate my findings to demonstrate that some of the suggestions above simply do not work.

As far as I am concerned, a handwash product, like a shampoo you add to a bucket and dunk your hands into, should not and will not strip a wax or other LSP of any worth. If the product doesn't irritate your skin, it won't have a chance, many which do, still won't strip, simply lay down a film which removes beading and sheeting.

An aside:
I've come this close (>|_|<) to accepting that some LSPs may actually need squeaky-clean/"stripped" paint, with which to "bond".

I have a male on the trigger, and females on the cannon and wand, 2 second swap. I got them at Home Depot, Harbor Freight had them cheaper thou.

As far as soap goes, good ol Meg's gold foams great for me. I would like to try the specialty soaps but for $10, hard switch to make.
