This is a 427 Shelby we detailed today. The car had medium to light swirls. The owner only used waterless wash systems on the car and it had taken its toll on the finish. We knocked it out using Wolfgang 3.0 Swirl remover followed by their Finish Glaze, 3.0 Deep Gloss Sealant, and then a coat of P21S. The owner was ecstatic!

By taking it's toll on it, you're talking about the swirls in the 3rd to last picture, right? Old cars like that, using a WW is a good thing, right?

That paint is just dripping wet, and absolutely gorgeous! Well done man!

Yes, but that wasn't even the worst of it. Some were too much for my DA and I had to go to my rotary. The only reason he uses a waterless is because it is permanently a convertible lol

Dynamite!

If you can comment... how did you 'get around' the decals and striping?

Its a factory car.

As for the decals and the rivets and other little studs all over the car:

I taped off the decals that weren't cleared over (many of them were). For the rivets and the convertible top spikes, I used a 4" pad on my DA to work as close as I could to them and lightly did the rest by hand. Those parts didn't come out perfect but its something only a professional detailer or someone with a big spot light would notice (and only if examining that part of the car). Trust me, I am one of the most OCD people you'll ever meet when it comes to my customers cars, especially cars that are 6 figures.

Here's the next car he is having me do as soon as it gets back from the tuner:
