Anyone know if a 10 to 1 dilution of purple power and some elbow grease will be strong enough to remove some wax from the plastic trim on my exterior?

Mother's Back to Black (http://www.autogeek.net/best-car-wax-remover-plastic-trim.html) Heavy Duty Trim Cleaner works well when used with the included brush and followed up with a 2nd application with a microfiber.

Available on AGO or OTC for $10.99

I would not use an APC for stripping wax. Griots makes a surface prep spray. If you are going to polish you do not need to strip the paint. You can also use a paint work cleanser that will remove wax and sealants.

My bad. Wax removal from black plastic trim. Use a pink block school eraser. takes a little elbow grease but it comes off for good.

That 1:10 ratio should do the trick though you may have to do a scrub and rinse process a few times

Since there is such a variety of plastics used in automotive applications...
I can't recommend Purple Power for use on your plastic trim.
{If you would decide to use it---Please do: "The Test Spot"!}

Instead, reach for one of these:
Mothers Back to Black Heavy Duty Trim Cleaner, best car wax remover plastic trim (http://www.autogeek.net/best-car-wax-remover-plastic-trim.html)
Griot's Garage Dried-On Wax Remover, remove dried wax, Griots Garage Wax Remover (http://www.autogeek.net/griots-garage-wax-remover.html)

I would recommend 0:0. That is, do not use it on paint.

I still love a nice cleaner wax like Klasse. It makes the paint perfect and ready for the final love touches
