This R8 luckily wasnt treated with anything prior to our visit. We tested it by spraying pH neutral R.O. water while the top was cool in the morning.

The decontamination process started with a vacuum, steam clean, and left for a day to dry while it was wrapped up.
We coated 3 layers of Ceramic Pro Textile. This coating works on BOTH vinyl and fabric tops. It is flexible, we opened and closed the roof after ever coat to ensure saturation.
1st layer Heavy dose, 30 min cure
2nd layer light (but very thorough), 15 min cure
3rd layer light, 15 min cure
8 hours in we test the coating's ability to bead. And we notice its setting up just fine. We dont get the coating wet for a week, but we did a few test spots to demonstrate the hydrophobic properties.

And 72 hours in we get the full effect.
