I just bought a Flex 3401on the easter sale AG had going on.

Busted it out of the UPS box and went to polish my truch with Menzerna sf4500.

When i went to clean the pad, I knew i was going to have problems, as the pad was forced to rotate.

I just balled up a MF towel, and sprayed the pad with pad cleaner. Then put the Flex speed at 1, and pressed the MFT against the pad.

Is this the ONLY way to clean the pad ?

If you mean cleaning "on the fly"(as in between panels), depending on the pad you can try:Foam Pad Conditioning Brush cleans and reconditions foam and wool pads on the buffer. remove excess caked wax and polish from buffing pads. (http://www.autogeek.net/padtool.html).

We use spurs on wool and brushes on foam in the autogeek garage.

When I clean my pads on the fly with the 3401, I lightly run a brush across the face of the rotating pad starting from the outside edge and work towards the inside. A few passes of the brush across the face of the pad is all that is needed as well as light pressure.
