The condensed character spacing makes it difficult to read.

Yes

You might consider a San Serif font, it is easier to read in small type

I'll offer this as a suggestion. With signatures or cards or websites or anything, when posting your number, don't use dashes. Periods look better. Ex. 555.666.777
