I did this car last summer, but since I am new here I figured I would share this one with you.

I had my friend drop off his C6 Corvette for a much needed paint correction. The sad part about this whole deal is that he just had the hood and and new Z06 front bumper put on and painted. The actual paint work is nice but the shops finishing work IE wetsanding and buffing is absolutly horrible. I was shocked to see all of the DA marks from sanding still left in the clear coat. Not too mention how much they charged him and now he has to pay me good money to fix it. He already brought it back once and they still didnt get it right. Anyway on to the before pics.

My process for all the DA marks and heavy compounding was to bust out the rotary with a white wool pad and M105 and just get after it bit by bit. Checking my work as I progressed. Most of the DA marks I had to hit with 2000 grit and compound with the rotary. After the wool pad I stepped down to a yellow foam cutting pad with M105. Once completed with that I switched to my Shurhold DA polisher with a orange LC pad with the M105. I know most will think I could of gone right to the 205 from the yellow pad but I wanted to be absolutly sure that all swirls/hazing was gone. Once all compounding was completed. I gave it a wash and a careful towel dry. Polishing was taking care with a white LC pad and M205. Once completed I topped with a coat of Collonite 845. Since doing this car I have switched up my product line a bit by going to Menzerna FG400 and PF2500 which has cut down my process big time. Sadly the car stays outside and doesn't look this nice anymore. I have tried to teach the owner about proper car with a black car but he just doesn't have the time or space for it.

Here is a couple after shots with just compounding with the rotary. No where near completed but you get the idea. Night and day so far.

Thank you. Yeah it is too bad. I saw it the other night and to be honest it broke my heart to see it not perfect like this. It's still pretty clean, but has little swirls etc starting to come back.
