2013 S5, Paint correction and CQuartz Finest Application

This car was a recent CPO purchase by a very good client of mine and they wanted to get it all cleaned up and protected. His previous vehicles had all been Opti-Coated, but after seeing several of my posts on CQF he wanted to give that I try this time around instead. ;)

Before

Removed ugly V6T badges from fenders….impressions in paint required a light wet sanding to remove.

Very nice job. Do you know how the emblems caused the impressions? Never came across that problem where wet sanding was needed. Txs.

I can only assume its some sort of chemical reaction between the adhesive and the clear coat where it leaves an outline of the emblem in the paint. I've actually seen this fairly often, but it was only a light sanding and its faster/more effective then trying to polish them out. I removed the badges on my wifes new Accord and just polished the marks out with Sonax PF, wiped the car down, coated with CQF, and 3-4 months later the outline show back up....

Looks really good!

What lift are you using, and did you build the ramps that your using on each side of it?

Chad - you need to just include the lift info in each of your posts since it is bound to come up haha :dblthumb2:

Yes, I built the ramps using 2" x 12" and 1" x 12" boards. They were coated with a roll on bed liner for water resistance.....clearly they are not polish dust resistant though! That's me blowing my pads out and I need to clean them and the lift. :D
