Hey all,

It finally warmed up enough for me to really clean my truck after reading up and gathering supplies all winter. I still don't have the stuff to correct the paint, but I think she glosses up enough for now.

Process:
Clean wheel wells, wheels, tires, etc. using Pinnacle Clear Coat Safe and a Daytona Speed brush along with a long handled brush for the wells.

I then did a rinseless wash with ONRWW and a chinelle wash mitt, drying as I went with some waffle weave guzzlers.

Then applied some Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Gel and let it dwell.

Finally, I applied Collinite 845 by hand using a foam applicator. I had previously applied some DP Poli-Coat Paint Sealant about 6 weeks ago, which seems to be holding up great. I buffed it off with a couple gold plush Cobra towels and called it a day, as all of this still tok several hours. I'm hoping I'll get faster as I do it more often.

On Collinite, I must say that I love the stuff. I followed the suggestions in the sticky, and used it from one of the self cleaning bottles AutoGeek sells. It was so easy to apply, wiped off with almost no effort, and left a great shine. One person even stopped by to ask what wax I was using.

Anyway, here are a few pics. Sorry it's kinda late in the day and there's a bunch of glare.

I am definitely open to any suggestions on how to improve my results, so please comment! And don't worry, I already know about the orange peel. The entire truck is like that, so it doesn't get super crisp reflections...

Thank you. I loved how the water beaded up with the DPPC Sealant, and I am excited to see how the Collinite behaves.

Thank you as well. I cannot speak for it's durability, although I hope it will live up to expectations and last me a few months. That will affect my decision for sure, but as far as ease of use and the shine, I will definitely use it again. It was incredibly easy to use for a beginner, and it looks awesome.

First love the truck:dblthumb2: I use it on my tuxedo black and boy does this stuff work. I use my porter cable 7424xp with a wax pad to apply, makes fast work of it and you can really thin it out.:pc7424:

Metallic blue is a gorgeous color and especially when it looks dripping wet. Your truck came out great! :props:

What's there not to like about Collinite 845.....:dblthumb2:

Looks nice man:iagree:
The thing I like most about the 845 is it looks good on any color but really looks sweet on dark colors , as you said very easy to work with, it's wipes off without any effort and last months.

I sealed my brand new 2014 red Mirage, once it's cured well I'll top it with the Collinite:)
It out performs the $100.00 waxes, so I see no point spending all that money when you can buy the 845 for less then 20 bucks.
They can keep their $100.00 waxes. Lol
I'm sold:dblthumb2:

tpr, first I must say I've admired your truck for a while. You take great care of it and it looks awesome. I can't wait to get my own PC later this year and correct my own paint. I'll be sure to use it with the Collinite as well. What pads have you found work well with your PC and your truck'a paint?

I couldn't agree with you more about Collinite. I'll be using it for a long time, for sure.
Thank you as well for your compliment. Like BobbyG, you're one of the greats here on AGO. I've learned a ton from your reviews, logs, and replies to people.

I use Wolfgang finishing glaze which is a fine polish, I use the grey lake country or a white pad. My paint is pretty much flawless then I top it with 845.:buffing:

Thank you! I can't wait to see the results once I get it properly polished. Some day...

I have been planning on using the Wolfgang series (UC, TSR, and FG), so it's good to hear it's brought such great results for you.
Which series of lake country pads do you like to use? I see they have the flat pads, CCS, etc...

Truck looks great. I too am a Collinite fan.

Thank you. It seems like there are a lot of Collinite fans on here, and now I know why. I don't think I've found anyone that's given Collinite a try and not loved it.
