Just did my first WW or RW today...did both cars as they werent all that dirty! I am still getting used to the process but it SURE DOES save some time! Anyway

For the wheels on my Firebird I decided to try a sort of "rinseless" wash on them.

Products: Meguiars Hot Rims for Aluminum, water in spray bottle

Procedure: Damp MF towel, spray 2 or 3 sprays of cleaner on wheel, wipe with damp towel, spray with water and dry with waffle weave wheel towel.

The wheels were not real dirty and you cant get to the barrels on these ANYWAY so this worked out great...here are the pics.

HAS ANYONE ELSE DONE SOMETHING SIMILAR on wheels that werent too dirty?

You can see the insides of the spokes and the lip are dirty

After: Definitely cleaned up the majority of what I wanted gone.

Looking great I never really thought of just wiping down the wheel I usually just spray with cleaner agitate with paint brush then spray off the little subs with a spray bottle of water then blow dry

I can see this working but having to touch each part of the wheel with your finger can get old. I remember, before I ever got into this hobby, using a microfiber towel to just wipe my wheels off!

Meg's tire and wheel cleaner, let it sit for 15-30sec, wet my brushes and go to work. Rinse when done.

My wheels are very well protected,, being so I only need to use a quick detailer most of the time, I stay on top of them so I don't have to use any harsh products:)
if they are a little dirty I use the DP Rinse-Less Wash and Gloss in a spray bottle, works great.

If they are barely dirty you don't need a wheel cleaner. Soap and water or your rinseless wash will do the trick just fine.

Thanks all. I used the wheel cleaner only cause I anticipated the dirt to have a better hold on the wheels. As for a finger touching every section of the wheel, I usually end up doing that with those wheels anyway...they are awesome but a pain to clean.
