Dirty tires not coming clean with OPC

Hi all,

I recently had my all-season tires installed on my car after being in winter storage at the local tire shop. I sprayed down the tires with water, hit them with Optimum Power Clean full strength, scrubbed with brush, rinsed. I noticed they were still dirty, so I repeated this process two more times. They still look awful! Any ideas of what I can use to get them clean?

It doesn't sound like they are new tires, but frequently new tires have mold release on them that doesn't really want to come off.

What color were the suds when you scrubbed with OPC? Were they brown?

I have used opc in the past, I didn't quite like it.

Get some zero fast 505 from home depot
Or meguiars d143 non acid wheel and tire cleaner

These 2 are my current favorite.
It actually turn brown the instant it is on the tires.
Amazing roll off is also good, however it is more expensive nowadays.
The 2 I mention is the cheapest I have found

I purchased them I think July-August 2013 and were swapped for winters in November. Suds were brown at first, then turned white. I do have a carpet scrub brush for my PC7424XP. Maybe scrubbing them with that would help?

Sidenote: if anybody's in the market for a good, all-around all-season tire, Pirelli P4s are fantastic. Highly recommended.

I dunno, if you scrubbed 'em good and the suds were white, I'd be tempted to just dress them and see how they come out. Different tires are different.

ZEP Formula 505 is my go to for tires. It does a great job and is well priced and readily available.

The tires have not been scrubbed at this point and ZEP Formula 505 is just dwelling.

I'll give 505 a shot. The local Home Depot is within walking distance and at $5 a bottle I don't have much to lose - except dirty tires. ;)

The absolute best tire cleaner is Tuff Shine. I have used just about every apc/ degreaser sold and none can hold a candle to Tuff shine. It is costly.

If the suds are not turning/staying white after four or five scrub downs then I would leave the tire be

Also on a side note when ever you have the time look at this brush this gives a very deep clean with its stiff short bristles

I was going to suggest mother tyre spay think its natural! It worked on my wife's summer tyres

I like meguiars d101 more than opc for cleaning tires. Cheaper too

I also use Meg's d101. Diluted 1:4 in a foaming spray bottle. Works well for me. Cleaned my tires right up after winter.

Soak a rag in Stoners Tarminator then wipe down the tire thoroughly. Apply your favorite dressing after.

I have used D101 in the past, since roshan recommended.
However it does work but i feel that there are better product out there that can do the job BETTER.

I have tried MANY different APC, but none of them really impresses me.
Amazing roll off used to be $24.99, but now it is $29.99.

Tuf shine is the BEST, however most expensive of all. In fact there is a sale for the concentrated version right now SOMEWHERE. About $50 and you get 2 gallons worth. Pretty good deal if u ask me
