Well, to say that the last few weeks have been crazy is the understatement of the year, so I apologize if this long awaited review was delayed.

True to form, Drew has been busy in the Waxatory. I've kept up with all the updates through his FB page https://www.facebook.com/Son1cWax, and the guy is just a machine!!!. I've seen the evolution of his dream from a "homebrew" to a full fledged wax production operation (with commercial grade wax melters and high end chemistry beakers etc...). Truly unbelievable.

I was privileged enough to be the recipient of one of his original Protowax through one of the Facebook giveaways, and I was hooked!!! I reviewed PW36, PW38 and PW54x

I did manage to put my hands on one of the first production pot of his Carnaubavore (#7)

Then came the Merry Waxmas (which I jumped on)

But he was not done yet! He went back in the Waxatory and started tinkering with his wax. He finally decided that he needed to do a major reformulation, in order to create another "flagship wax". The original Protowax and production waxes were all 100% natural products. They are great products, but he wanted a "hazing wax". His reformulations EXPLODED, and he finally teased us with what he referred to as his "next production". Well guess what,I wanted it!..... and with much persuasion I finally got him to agree to let me have the "Protowax 93" (ahead of its release).

Drew is known for his AMAZING smelling wax, and this one is no different. It has a strong pleasant aroma of orange/citrus. It is a much softer wax than the Carnaubavore or Merry Waxmas and is a breeze to apply and remove. I did have some questions for Drew so I could compare with Carnaubavore but being that it is such a new production, he hasn't had a chance to experiment (mainly because of time and weather).

Carnaubavore is known to be safe to apply in full sun. I would assume that since it is a "hazing" wax that it will not be..... but living up North, he won't be able to answer that question till it warms up. I guess I will take it upon myself to experiment myself. I did ask if it would stain the trims but again the question could not be answered YET!. The question I did answer to myself is how hydrophobic it was. This wax is CRAZY HYDROPHOBIC!! Check out those high beads!!

I had a hard time keeping water on my hand, and it took a major balancing act for the beads I was able to keep no to fly off my hand.

After being satisfied that the product exceeded my standards I decided to try the product it on a car. Trust me when I tell you it was fun!!! I started the beautification process on this Mercedes nice and early, but by the time I was ready to wax, it was dark, so the pictures did not come out. The car spent the whole weekend with me so I did take some after picture the next day..... so enjoy!

The flake pop was amazing! The warmth of the wax and reflections were definitely one of a high grade carnauba wax. The product applies thin, hazes in 5-10 minutes (mine was on the long side because of 100% humidity and night application), and is removed easily. I can't wait to try it again!

If this wax is not his next production wax, it should be! If he chooses to tinker it some more before commercial release, then I can't wait to see what his production wax will be.:hungry:

I hope you enjoyed the teaser! I will most likely do another review soon (trying to answer some of my own questions) but don't wait on my account. According to his web page, he will be releasing a limited sampling in the upcoming Detail Box, sometime in April.

Like DR.Pain I too have gotten his two production waxes. His wax sure made my car look great. I am looking forward to getting his proto 93 wax from the detail box.com. Looks like it might be his best wax yet. Great write up Dr.

I never get on here much, but I just wanted to re-iterate how awesome SON1C Wax is. This stuff is truly incredible and like stated above, it smells AMAZING. I have known Drew for a long time now, and I too have seen him go from a home-brewer/experimenter into a full fledged waxing machine. Just wanted to give you a shout out Drew!

Eric, If you were impressed with the Carnaubavore, you will be blown by this one!

I humbly bow to you my friend. In order to have the "flawless look", I have to have products that give the WOW factor, which will also serve to protect the countless hours invested in making the paint just right. Thanks again for the sample, and for allowing me to pester you daily till you cave in to my demands :dblthumb2:

Agreed and agreed! The smell WAS his trademark, I think the product will now shine for itself to the average consumer looking for a quick and easy shine. I do think the Carnaubavore may still edge on the warm glow of an all natural product. I do need to compare side by side (which I haven't done)
