I would like to get a set of 3" foam pads for my Porter Cable to use in smaller/narrower areas. I'm not really finding much available. I would like to use LC CCS pads or flat pads because I am used to them, but I can't seem to find them at AG. All I can find are the hydro pad from LC and some pads from Griots with which I am not familiar.

I did find a 3.5" LC pad on another site but they only seem to have one weight (the Green heavy polishing pad). That wouldn't be my favorite choice.

Am I missing something here or is it just not available?

Thanks,

Car-Pro sells different brands. The Hydro-Tech's were designed for newer water based polishes. Your gonna have to due some searching. Check Lake Country's website and go from there

Maybe try 4" pads? I use them on my Rupes mini and haven't yet found an area that they couldn't tackle.

Just don't do as I did and buy the Griot's 3" pads, they soak up so much product and become non-effective.

Autogeek doesn't sell the CCS 3in pads and the HydroTechs don't last more than one or two uses.

Consider Meguiars 3in MF pads as well.

Also, unless I'm mistaken and cant find the spot, Autogeek should consider searching pads by size.

If they absolutely have to be 3" pads (and sometimes they do), HydroTechs are about the most common ones. 3M and Griots also make 3" foam pads. The Griots 3" polishing pad (orange) is pretty good. The red wax pad is way too soft to use with a real DA.

The best 4" pads are Rupes pads (work well on any machine) or CG Self Centering Hex Logic pads. Meg's makes 3" foam pads that taper into about 3.5" - but the glue is not great that hold the Velcro on IME.

I had heard that before! I just don't want to have to go through a learning curve on a new product unnecessarily...

Many thanks!

Thanks! I got several PMs about other sources. I think AG is missing a bit of business here by not carrying this line.

Well I did find them at AutoDetailingSolutions so I ordered a 6-pack (basically buy 5 and get the 6th free) of 3" CCS LC - 2 orange, 2 black and 2 blue. I figure that should be good for everything I'd need them for.

The 3" CCS pads are incredible! I approached Nick about AG carrying them, but he said the didn't think there would be any interest in them. I contacted ADS, and after a little convincing, they agreed to start carrying them. I picked up 24 of them, and it absolutely love them. They're about half as thick as the 3" flat pads, and they have squared off edges, much like the Hydrotech pads, as opposed to the rounded edges of the flat pads.

Try the Meguiar's MF system on your 3" BP and PC.

You can thank me later
