Hey everyone, first let me introduce myself. I own a 13' taffeta white civic si sedan and my dad has a 14' modern steel metallic accord ex-l sedan.

I detailed my friend's 14' crystal black pearl accord sport yesterday and figured I'd share some pics lol.

That looks awesome. I just got the exact same car and just ordered all new supplies for it. I am excited for my first black car. I am going with Blackfire Polish then wet diamond, then a coat of souveran a week or so later. Great Job looks awesome

I just sold my Habenero Red Pearl Civic Si. It was a sad day! I loved that car, had it since the end of 05. Got good money for it and needed a four door.

thanks. It's def a pain to take care of a darker colored vehicle compared to lighter colored ones. My friend reminded me that after a wash, dust will show up on the paint in a couple of hours.

Nice Work!

I have a Rallye Red 2008 Civic Si, what machine polisher and pads did you use. I'm afraid of learning paint correction with my soft paint.

Also does harbor freight still sell the foam gun? I can't find it.

I LOVE it. The Si is a fun little car but I missed a lot of the creature comforts of the Accord; push button start, dual zone climate control, keyless entry, leather, touchscreen audio, etc.

The Accord V6 Coupe with a 6 speed is a 278hp beast, 5.7sec 0-60, and a nice way to go.:dblthumb2:

I did everything by hand lol, and nice! 8thgen si's with the k20's are incredible. They should still have it, its called the car wash nozzle.

Just a question. The Accord is practically a new vehicle. I am assuming the paint is still in a good condition. Why did you decide to go with Ultimate compound? Would this product be too much cut for such vehicle?

Good job by the way

I also have a 2013 Accord EX-L V6 coupe in Modern Steel Metallic. To answer your question it depends on the condition of the car when it was delivered and or what has happened to it since it was delivered. Lots of dealerships add the dealer installed swirl option by their hack detailers prior to delivery. When I bought my car, I specifically asked them not to clean it or wash it prior to delivery and I got it swirl free. Its remained mostly swirl and scratch free so I have no done any polishing or compounding on it. I have only decontaminated the paint and protected it.

If the car was full of swirls or scratches, Ultimate compound may have been necessary to remove them. Its a moderately agressive compound, but not terribly agressive.

Hope that helps.

I have that exact same car in the same color - great job! Mine doesn't look nearly as nice since it got run into in the parking lot of Costco and had to go to the bodyshop for repair. The buffer swirls are horrendous and I just need to find a weekend to break out the M105 to polish it out.

Anyway - this gives me inspiration to get the job done. Nice work!

Ultimate compound wasnt too bad with light passes, sadly, this car has been washed by the dealer and paint was all types of screwed up
