Got my UDM and decided to use it on my wifes 99 Ford Expedition today. Do not have any before pictures as truck was in good shape.

Wheels cleaned with DP Cleanse-All exterior, agitated and hosed off
sprayed tires with Poorboys Bold N Bright ( love this stuff )
Washed Duragloss 901, with 2 bucket method
Dried with Cobra MFs
UDM with Orange 5.5 low profile pad and Optimum Compound, needed something alittle more aggressive for some areas. Changed to a 4inch orange pad on some scratch areas and worked great.
UDM with white 5.5 low profile pad and Optimum Polish, went on very smooth.
waxed with Xmt 180 - grape smell is good ( I have Max Wax and like that product alot, easy on easy off ) the xmt 180 was very close. Not sure yet which I like better.
Treated trim with Poorboys Trim Restorer
Finished up with touch up on wheels, hit them again with poorboys Bold N Bright and wipe down with Pinnacle Souveran Liquid Spray wax as last step on entire truck

As soon as I finished, a storm moved in and poured down rain. Was dark by the time it stopped so unable to get water beeding picture.

I have porter cable 7424 that I liked once I put washer on, but UDM is a better machine and you do not need to have a washer. What I had read about issues with UDM were true, cord is shorter, speed dial sticks out alittle more than PC, handle is alittle harded to screw in on one side, but these are minor. Machine worked perfectly and the power is definitely there. Highly recommend.

yea i think those scratch areas are gunna require some high grit sandpaper to get to the point wheres its not noticable.... the touch up paint i just got is the same exact code as the BMW's so when im done with the hood you can try that out on the expi

and thanks for telling me you were getting a UDM...gorsh keep a son out of the loop

Thinking about making the plunge for a UDM. My only worry is recurring tendonitis in my elbow and the use of any polisher aggravating the problem. Its very new paint (with no marring) but have really caught the detailing bug and want to kick it up a notch.

Anyone had difficulty using a PC/UDM who also has elbow issues? If so, I can always pay someone to polish the car for me and I'll just continue enjoying the maintenance.

Great work Pawpaw! I love my UDM. I just can't wait for the new switch, and it will be almost perfect. I also want to be able to use a 6 inch backing plate for my CCS pads.
