hello guys, i figured i would post outside my regular hhr thread i got going on and share with you this recent job i did. first of all, i want to thank my buddy and forum member frankS for sending business my way. he called me today telling me that he couldnt make it from west palm beach to miami to do a job and was nice enough to pass it along to me.

it's a brand new volvo that had two medium size glob of thick paint on the hood. before they called me they had tried everything, gasoline, different type of scrubbing techniques. anyways, here are the pics of how i found the hood.

i tried the least aggressive method.. using nano skin pad, and that didnt work.. i moved up to a polish and a polishing pad.. and that didnt work.. i decided to go with 6.5 megs mf cutting pad and megs 101 compound.. and after a couple of passes with my rupes this seemed to work very well. after the paint was removed.. i followed up with a blue buff and shine pad with hd speed (aio) and to put the icing on the cake i used optimum opti seal with a finishing pad.. and these were my results.

and to finish it off, i did a onr rinseless wash. the customer was very happy and glad that her eyesore went away. again, thanks to frankS for sending me this customer. you gotta love the autogeek community. :dblthumb2:

Excellent work on that paint disaster. I'm sure the customer was more than happy after trying gasoline and "scrubbing".

the customer was shocked that the paint was safely removed. and yea :nomore: gasoline and scrubbing headaches.

just to note a correction.. i used "optimum poli-seal" instead of opti seal.. i always get these two mixed up.

i also used my bank of america mobile merchant card reader for the first time..things are looking up :xyxthumbs:

That looks great! My subaru is the same color... I am taking notes. Just curious why you used two AIOs? Isn't HD Speed and the Poli seal both AIO? Great job... I've been following your HHR thread too.

awesome, im glad you like the hhr thread! yes, speed is hd's aio and optimum poli-seal is also a aio.. but quite honestly i dont see much correction with poliseal. i use it mainly because of its paint sealant attributes. it leaves a great mirror like finish to the paint.
