Dont really get sunburned that much as my skin is quite similar to leather after 20 years of farming.I did see though you were sporting the RUDOLF nose yesterday. All in good fun.

Pictures on the way...
My co-worker Jeff took a bunch as did myself and Wes and a few other people... one thing for sure, we have plenty of pictures showing how we buffed-out and detailed the Meguiar's Special Events Truck.

This first one is of the team still present at about 7:45pm, right after we finished the job and right before it got dark.

From left to right....

Jeff, John, Wes, Jay, Robert, Tim, Frank, Andy and me....

This picture is one I took using my iPhone this morning right before 7:00am while it was still dark and the Show Car Garage lighted sign was still on and reflecting off the side of the Meguiar's truck.

Here's the actual sign....

We moved the truck to make Autogeek warehouse bay doors accessible for deliveries and then later it rained. Since everyone loves to see water beading shots here's a few pictures of the truck today and the water beading shots....

Haven't looked through all the pictures but here's one of the coolest shots taken yesterday by Robert using my iPhone...

Now let me show you some before shots with the sun shining down on the paint and the Flex Swirl Finder Light revealing the true condition as well as the flash off my trusty, dusty Canon Rebel T5i

As is the norm around here, I try to document the current condition of all the projects that go through Autogeek's Show Car Garage or in this case are parked out in front of the garage.

It was a challenge to get pictures using the sun because it was partly cloudy outside, there were row of trees along the side of the truck and even with the sun low in the sky it was shining pretty high on the truck which forced me to squat down to take these shots....

I was told this was the result of some shoddy work done at a truck wash...

Standing with my back to the shrubs and trees, lit up the side with my flash...

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/2326/Meguiars_Truck_Detailed_at_Autogeek_023.jpg

Then focused on the surface without the flash...

Here's where I'm going to do my Test Spot. Before buffing out ANYTHING, especially anyting very large, I cannot stress enough the importance of doing a test spot and dial-in your process and make sure you can make one small area look good or at least look good enough to meet your expectations BEFORE buffing out the entire rig.

This first shot is with the flash of my camera...

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/2326/Meguiars_Truck_Detailed_at_Autogeek_025.jpg

Now I'll use the Flex Swirl Finder Light, if you look closely in the picture below you can see me holding it in the refelction of the paint before I turn it on.

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/2326/Meguiars_Truck_Detailed_at_Autogeek_026.jpg

Now I've turned on the Flex Swirl Finder Light and taken a picture with my Canon...

After talking with Jason Rose about our approach, we both agreed taking a one-step approach using a one-step cleaner/sealant should be tired first. IF this works, we'll be able to,

Clean up the paint - remove road film and staining
Reduce the swirls and scratches
Do the paint polishing in one step (very important)
Save our arms with a product that is known to wipe off easy even when used outside in direct sun.

Here's I'm using the Rupes Bigfoot 21 with a W9006 foam finishing pad and the M20 on about speed setting 5

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/2326/Meguiars_Truck_Detailed_at_Autogeek_030.jpg

I made 6-7 slow section passes over the letter "C" and surrounding paint for about a 2' by 2' area.

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/2326/Meguiars_Truck_Detailed_at_Autogeek_031.jpg

Soft, careful wipe-off after allowing the M20 to dry to a haze....

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/2326/Meguiars_Truck_Detailed_at_Autogeek_033.jpg

Inspection time....

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/2326/Meguiars_Truck_Detailed_at_Autogeek_034.jpg

Looks good.

1000 Times better than before in one-step using VERY non-aggressive products.

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/2326/Meguiars_Truck_Detailed_at_Autogeek_035.jpg

Here's a cropped out section from the above picture and as you can see the results are not perfect but we're not aiming for perfection with swirls this bad in a project this big that we only want to do ONE STEP to.
