Does anyone here know about electrical systems on Volvo 240s? The tag lights wont work on my Volvo 240 wagon. I replaced bulbs fuse and tag light assembly and still dont work. What should I do next?

You can try using a test light and tracing the wire and see where you have power. If you have power at the fuse and not at the bulb, their could be a break in the wire.

Have you checked the wiring harness running from the car to the hatch its right next to the passenger side hinge... The 240's are really bad about pinching the wires.. I have a 91 wagon and the tag lights/rear wiper haven't worked in a long time

Yes if it's a hatch back ck wires at the bend they will brake also ck grounds
Look for rust or corision

Check continuity from the fuze to the light. More than likely a wire is broken.

either a hatchback or a square back.....they are known for broken wires and the biggest culprit GROUNDS.

I can walk you thru a series of tests the easy way just shoot me a pm.

I admit Ive not fixed the wiring.....because the breaks stopped working and the wheel barings need redone. Plus I got a new car that Ive been playing with lol
