My wife's car has a winshield on her Toyota that is scratched and also has this waviness to it that she claims the blurriness is enough to start giving her a headache and I'd like to see if I can correct it. What I ordered already:

1 - Griot Garage 6"
2 - 5" LC backing plate
3 - Cerium Oxide

I am curious if I can use this to do the job:

CarPro 3" Rayon Glass Pad (2-pack)
CarPro Rayon Glass Polishing Pad, glass cutting pad (http://www.autogeek.net/scratch-removal-on-car-glass.html)
CarPro 5" Rayon Glass Pad (2-pack)
CarPro Rayon Glass Polishing Pad, glass leveling discs (http://www.autogeek.net/carpro-rayon-glass-polishing-pad.html)
3 inch DA Backing Plate by LC
3 Inch Dual Action Flexible Backing Plate, da backing plate, random orbital backing plate (http://www.autogeek.net/3inch-dual-action-backing-plate.html)

Should I get something like CarPro CeriGlass as a backup?

I have used the CarPro Rayon Glass Pads & CeriGlass with great results. I used my PC DA to help clean up the glass. But for real defect removal i used my Flex PE14 rotary. I do know however that others have used their DA to do the same job it just takes a little more time.

What model Toyota is this?

2013 Highlanders seem do have a rash of wavy windshields, but I'm sure the problem could be across their line depending on where they source their glass. Our's is only wavy towards the bottom of the glass, but I've read several accounts from other owners that have it much worse.

The polishing might help the scratches, but the waviness is probably a defect in the glass, or glass layers.

Troy thanks. I found this informative post on the subject:

Looks like I will get those things I posted and also the CeriGlass just as a backup...

CarPro Ceriglass Glass Polish, windshield polish, water spot remover (http://www.autogeek.net/carpro-ceriglass-polish.html)

Looks like with the Griot, per the post, higher OPM and pressure. On another thread with a rotary, the user used lower RPM (800-2500) and achieved good results too. I'll probably try lower OPM and pressure first (setting 1 on GG is 2500 OPM I think) to see what happens - if it works it will be easier than high OPM/pressure so why not?

Anyone used a regular paint polish (mid grade like m205 for example) and foam pads on a windshield? I'm not looking to buff out many defects, but just want to eliminate some wiper marks that regular class cleaner and clay haven't gotten out and add some more clarity before I seal it again.

205 will not take out wiper marks, but Ceriglass will.

Btw, I wanted to say CeriGlass with the rayon pads worked incredibly well. I did his a couple months ago and the results exceeded my expectations. I felt as though the glass was so clear, its like it wasn't there.
