View Full Version : Rinseless wash before claying?

I'm going to clay and Klasse it up this weekend. The weather could be high 40's on Friday. I'm thinking of doing a rinseless wash with Pinnacle. It's got a Carnauba wax added to it. Is that a problem before claying? Or is there so little wax in the rinseless so no big deal?

No big deal IMO.
I wonder what would happen if you added some APC to a rinseless wash in an effort to help strip the paint of previous waxes, sealants, and residues.

I don't see a problem with your plan of attack cause the wax will come right back off the paintwork as soon as you start claying

That is an interesting idea. I think I'll do that. Thanks!

You got it! Winter been so brutal that the 40's seem like 80.

That's what I'm thinking. I think the APC idea is sound.

APC won't leave a residue without a rinse?

That was just an idea. I don't know if it is a good one. Perhaps get more opinions on it first.

Won't be a problem. Wax won't protect contaminants from being roved by clay.

OPC is the only APC I know of that 100% will not effect ONR's rinsing ability.
That being said, I spray bumper down with APC+ all the timer in the summer, let dwell, then ONR wash. Never had an issue.

I do the same without issue. Albeit I use a different APC but the principal remains the same.
