Good day all!
Found this forum a few weeks ago in anticipation of taking care of my new ride (CLA45). I've found a lot of good advice on this forum, but unfortunately, a lot of the products I WOULD have wanted to use is not available here and costs a small fortune to ship over half way across the world, but I try to make do.
Unfortunately, I do not have access to an electrical outlet in the carpark, and getting a generator is a bit of a hassle, so using a DA or orbital to was and polish the car is a bit out of reach.
I have however, enlisted the help of a shop to apply a protective sealent called honjyo, basically it acts like glass. That's my form of sacrificial protective barrier, have to go back every few months to clean and top up that layer, but overall it helps quite a bit. Dried up bird poop can be easily removed, most of the time a little flick of the finger can easily slide it off even when completely dried (not that i do that [too often];))
My current set up after a lot of sourcing is:
Chemical guys glossworkz shampoo
Chemical guys extra slick QD
Chemical guys diablo rim cleaner
Chemical guys leather cleaner & conditioner spray
Duragloss 281 Wet look tire shine
Very basic, and no wax, as you cannot apply it to the protective layer, otherwise the wax will strip it eventually. But so far, a month has passed, many bird poops have fallen, and no etching or marring from them. So overall, not bad.
Still a lot of more products to buy for interior care, but so far, no complaints!
