Decided to start this thread a little early. I was talking to member 28one the other day about my exploded package. He clued me into some shipping info I never knew about for west coast shoppers

Then he told me I should place another order. Which I would love to, but I explained to him I just spent $1800 on a new best friend. "Holy cow dude!", was his response. Probably like most everyone else's will be. I told him I would make a thread showing him off when I got him. I guess I'm just anxious, so I'm starting it a few days earlier! :)

That is him! A Great Dane. The breeder named him Goliath, due to him being the largest in the litter. He comes from Champion European bloodlines, but not Champion sired. Mom is 150 pounds and father is 190! Wow! My wife and I have been going back and forth on getting one and everything fell into place at the perfect time to grab him.

This was him today leaving the vets office. His ears were just cropped last night, so the breeder picked him up today. The vet was astonished with his size! He weighed in at 29.6 pounds at 8 weeks old.

He has to go back and get his stitches taken out Thursday and then get his ears tapped up on the following Saturday. He will be flying to me on that Sunday, and we couldn't be anymore excited!

I will update as he gets here and as he grows, grows, and grows!

;)

That's awesome. He looks like a big guy for sure. We have a Great Dane / Lab mix. He's two and about 120lbs. After having a big dog I'll never own another dog under 100lbs lol. They are just too much fun.

Here he is before his second birthday. Like he needs to see more than he does.

I sold my pick up to get the jeep I have now. But my tailgate can split open, so I can drive with the glass flipped up. It's what I do with my Weimaraner and he loves it.

We almost adopted a Great Dane, which seem to be in shelters quite a bit, but our vet was concerned since our dogs are small. She was a sweetie and about a week later she found a new home.

Beautiful boy! I love dogs. We have a beagle and a boxer currently. Next dog will be a large dog.

I don't know why they are in shelters so much! Maybe people don't understand how BIG they can get? We thought about adopting as well, but most Great Dane rescues have strict rules and they don't allow out of state buyers. And to our luck, there are no rescues in Montana.

I had a Great Dane once.

The real expense was the diesel fuel for the Cat D-6 I had to use to clean up the poop in the back yard.

But she sure was a great dog. Loved everybody and all the other animals in the neighborhood too.

Beautiful sweet dogs. Congratulations. I hope his ears don't hurt.
I think Danes look adorable uncropped.

We currently have a fawn Great Dane that's about 1.5 years old. For irony we named her Tinkerbell.

She is an amazing dog and like no other one we've owned. Have fun watching her grow!

I agree, but only until they mature. Then a Great Dane has such a regal appearance as a cropped adult.
