Wow........it's been awhile since I've done this.......I hope I remember how!
This big rig is owned by a good friend of mine. He loves to hunt, fish, and camp. Why he picked black I will never know. There were tons of scratches and nicks. He just told me to do what I could with them. Since this was a multi-stage paint correction, I figured that I would do a full Menzerna detail with the help of the new UDM. This thing was huge and was time consuming. I started at 7:00AM and finished at 12:45PM.
Here's the process.........
Wash Cycle....
(Detailing4U foam gun with DP's Xtreme Car Wash)
This car wash is the best I've found for this foam gun. Tons of shaving cream style foam and good cleaning ability. The tires and wheels where pre-treated with Purple Power (full strength) and were the wells and front grill. I did use a bucket of wash with an EDGE ShMitt for extra cleaning power. Drying was handled by a Cobra Guzzler. Believe it or not, claying was not needed.
Engine Bay.....
(Purple Power followed by Armor All Tire Foam)
A simple, tried and true process. Degrease, rinse, spray on foam, and let back for 15 minutes. Waaaalaaaa! DONE!
Paint Correction & Protection.....
(Menzerna's 106FF and Sealing Wax with UDM and custom EDGE yellow and red pads)
The UDM kicks butt.........major butt. Very powerful but it's still a DA. There will be vibrations. I used the yellow side with 106 to do a panel at speed 6. There was dusting but who cares! This stuff works and works well. I did mist some water on the panel for removal. After correcting, I flipped over the pad to the red side and applied Menzerna's Sealing Wax. This stuff reminds me of Collinite's Insulator wax but with some cut. I cleaned up any hazing and left a slick, glossy finish. It wasn't soft like a carnauba though. Just a squeaky clean feel. There was no dusting either.
Interior.......
Purple Power at 10:1 was used for heavy carpet cleaning and mats (also for all plastic panels). Folex was then used for the seats and the rest of the carpets. DP's Interior Protectant was applies to all plastics for protection. DP's Krystal Vision was used on all glass. The jams were treated with DP's Surface Spray Shield.
Wheels, Wells, & Tires.......
They were cleaned with Purple Power and pressure washed. The tires and wells recieved a coat of Armor All Tire Foam and then the tires were follow with Street Appeal tire dressing (the 1.00 tire dressing!). The wheels got a coat of DP's Surface Spray Shield.
Befores.......
