Car Grinder - Kind of like a Wood Chipper for cars

Local car guy sent me the link to this video and I thought it was pretty impressive. It would take a lot of power and gearing to chip up a whole car as well as things like motors.

Wow!!! That is impressive Mike!!

When I was a kid I used to take a hammer to some of my HotWheels and Matchbox cars to make them look like they were in a crash. I guess I've always had some strange attraction to destructive stuff like that.

When I stayed in Plantation Florida for a while I worked as a mechanic for Sun Recycling (division of Southern Waste Systems) in Pompano Beach. One of my responsibilities was to maintain big destructive machines like that one, however the ones I worked on typically ground up pallets, palm trees and other hurricane debris.

I did feel right at home working there.

The atrocity! Someone needs to be the voice for the voiceless cars!

I've seen a company slogan once that made me laugh, it was for a "Testing Company", as in they would test products for all types of reasons. There slogan was,

"You make... it we break it... guaranteed"

That could be my motto for sure as I push the limits of every tool I get my hands on. The way I see it is that if I didn't, I wouldn't know for sure a few things...

1. could it get done faster or better?
2. will it hold up to careless helpers?
3. is it something I can really rely on that's worth replacing?

I guess it could tie into my propensity for destructive behavior.

I'd love to have a job with that testing company. :xyxthumbs:

Every time I see chippers & grinders = Movie deaths!

How much does something like cost anyway? $300K 500K?
