The windshield wiper fluid doesn't work well because the wiper starts to wipe immediately after the ejection of windshield wiper fluid. This has damaged the rubber on my windshield wiper..

what product do you recommend to make the windshield perfect clean without any residual ice? Ideally I can spray this product on windshield and the ice/snow will just dissolve quickly.

also hopefully this product will be friendly to the paint.

The best thing to do is to scrape as much ice off the windshield as possible to prevent this.

I used to use this before i had a garage when I knew it would snow:
Prestone 32oz Windshield De-Icer Spray: Automotive : Walmart.com (http://www.walmart.com/ip/16424028?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=321146&adid=22222222227017350654&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=35588381796&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=51043214316&veh=sem)

You spray it on your windshield and it prevents any ice buildup while your car is sitting outside. It worked pretty well IMO.

I've had pretty good luck with using basic low-temp window washer fluid in a spray bottle and pre-soaking ice build up before scraping. The chemicals in the fluid break down the ice and makes it a whole lot easier to clean off the windows.

Thanks for the recommendation. The reason I don't want scrape too hard is because I have opti glass coating on my windshield..

After this much scraping I have done this winter, the coating may well be gone anyways.
