Poorboy’s Pro Polish is one of the most underrated detailing products on the market. It is a chemical cleaner that can clean the paint before your sealant or wax, it’ll clean chrome, glass, metals, plastic, etc. It’ll do everything. It can even remove wet sanding marks. Pretty impressive for a chemical cleaner!

So to clear up any misunderstandings that a chemical polish can’t remove sanding marks, I decided to do this test. I went out to my Dad’s company car with my HF rotary, a wool cutting pad, Poorboy’s Pro Polish, a few MFs, S&W and 2000 grit sandpaper. Just a heads up that the pictures are not that great… the sun was playing tricks and halogens and the Brinkmann don’t show swirls that well outdoors.

The main event:

Before… there are swirls in there…

Sanded down:

Cutting tools:

After 1st pass:

After 2nd pass – alcohol wipedown (notice beading!)

All sanding marks gone (a few holograms though):

After some Optimum Polish and polishing pad to clear any holograms = finished results:

So there you have it… a cleamical polish removing sanding marks. As I said above Pro Polish is very versatile and if you don’t want to use it as a defect remover you may want to look into using it as a paint cleaner. To show it’s fullest potential I wrote on my Jeep with a Sharpie, let it dry and then proceded to remove it with PB PP:

So this is my latest test with pictures. Hope I helped you understand a product you may not have tried before. I will admit that I don’t use PP all that often but I need to work it into my regime in the future more because it is simply a great product!

Good to know stuff there Budman. Thanks for the great writeup.
I just got some to use by hand in areas that the PC can't do, and don't want to use an AIO. Haven't used it yet.

Agree 100%. I use it a lot on door crevices, removing bugs and stains and cleaning smooth plastic. IMO it works much better than AIO for cleaning.

I truely believe that this is the most underrated detailing product on the market. It'll tackle any situation that you throw at it! I have to be honest, I was a little scared writing on the Jeep thinking that it won't come off... but it actually wiped off like a dry erase marker! PP is also great at cleaning the paint free of oxidation and cleaning up chrome.

it also works very well on old weather stripping and moldings.
I usually polish up keys after a detail and this product works like magic for that.

Wow what a review, very nice indeed. I too have to admit that I didn't/don't pay much attention to PB products but perhaps I should start looking past Menzerna :D...pst..my Menzerna is in the other room she can't hear me hahahaha :D

impressive ... would like to hear/see how Steve suggests how the product actually works. Obviously pad is providing the abrasiveness, so is the polish doing the work or is it simply the lubricant allowing the pad to do the work ??
