After having booked this detail in November Nick and I finally got to meet on Friday night when he dropped his car off for some much needed love.

After waxing lyrical (pun intended  ) for about an hour over the best way forward we settled on a 1-step correction. As soon as he left I got cracking removing the stickers off the car. The halogens were used to generate some heat and soften the glue. I then used a plastic razor to lift the corners of the stickers and gently pulled them off. The remaining residue was dealt with on Saturday during the tar removal process.

I then worked on the interior (compressed air blow out / vacuum / leather cleaned using Cyclo APC / conditioned using Glossworx Leather Conditioner) until calling it a night around 22:00, with thoughts of how to deal with this the next day on my mind (one of the biggest bird bomb etchings I have seen)

And another nasty one on the roof

Saturday 06:00 to 20:30 and Sunday 06:30 to 15:00

Before getting to work I took some pics - the car has been washed the previous day.

Although the engine bay had never been part of the scope of the detail, I just had to give it a quick clean up.

After blowing out with compressed air, using various brushes and some Cyclo APC on a few cloths I dressed it with Chemical Guys Bare Bones. Now that looks a little more presentable.

A quick pic while the car was still in the garage (Once again the weather was looking like it could rain so I didn't want to take the car out before Nick arrived)

But once he did I managed to snap these quick pics before he left.

Nice work man! I am going to be doing my Candy White Jetta Sportwagon TDI here at the end of the month, if the weather settles down and it stops snowing every week. Keep up the good work.

Nice work man! I am going to be doing my Candy White Jetta Sportwagon TDI here at the end of the month, if the weather settles down and it stops snowing every week. Keep up the good work.

Thanks very much.

For some reason I have had a real run of Candy White VW's of late, and have another planned for this coming weekend - a Tiguan (not sure if you get them over there) - which will make it 5 candy white cars in a row.

Thankfully the weekend after that I have a Jerez Black BMW M3 - which will make a welcomed change from all the white paint I have been staring at lately. :D

I must be honest I am really grateful for our weather over here in South Africa, especially the part I live in, where we have never seen snow before. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for owners/detailers having to contend with road salt / snow etc etc.
