A friend asked me to wash & wax his truck for him. Nothing fancy really. He had just purchased this beautiful 01 Dakota R/T 68k garage queen.

The color of it is Intense Blue. I love the way that color looks when its clean. After I clean it and everything I'm wondering what to wax it with. But, now I'm thinking I want to not only wax it...I want to put something before it.

I've never done this even to my own car before. I read a lot of you on the forums do it so I wanted to ask for an opinion. What combo to use?

I have a few to use on my shelf. PB's Ex sealant w/ wax, CG Blacklight, Mothers Reflections Wax, Finish Kare pink wax, Megs #16 (never used it yet), and the xmas waxes by WG, DP, BF & Pinnacle.

Any suggestions?

Blacklight with any of the Xmas waxes as a topper would be nice I imagine

Are you asking what what sealant to use to be topped with a carnauba wax?

Yes, or just anything I can put together.

That's great. Thank you.

I think you would like Blacklight topped with a wax but don't count on much durability. Probably a few months if a true garage queen. But it will look good for those months. Some people swear by Megs #16 for jobs with no correction but sure how I feel about that.

Royal blue looks AMAZING with Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant on it!

Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant delivers a deep, wet, liquid shimmer unlike anything you can imagine. (http://www.autogeek.net/wg5500.html)

I'm itching to use Megs's #16. Just waiting for the right moment.

Just because you recommend it, I will get it on my next order!

Today I washed that truck and used the Blacklight & Pinnacle Souveran wax combo. I turned out nice really. Just after pics because there was no need really to see before. That and we were both on a tight schedule with no luxury of doing a tape split. So, had to make things happen. I do have a couple after pics however.

Meguiar's m21 would really make this color pop.
Two more I can reccomend to you is Wolfgang Glossy Paint Sealant and DP Poli-Coat Paimt Sealant.

Really can't go wrong with either of these.

WG is one for sure that no topping is needed, it leaves the paint super glossy and slick.

I'm in love with these trucks now. He let me drive it before we washed it. It felt right! :xyxthumbs:

Yeah, Just was saying the same thing about WG Sealant as well. I'm definetly going to be picking me up a bottle on my next order.

I was really impressed with the way Souveran looked too. First time using it.
