What do you guys use as a shampoo or wash to strip the wax before a job? I am not going to polish but just strip the old wax off the car.

i know some people say Dawn works. Whats else works?

Thanks

Had trouble taking Collinite 476 off after BOTH a Citrus wash and Dawn wash. So not even Dawn is automatic.

Try DP Prep Polish, not only will it remove wax and oils from your Oaint but it will also clean it like nothing else.
Your paint would be ready for you lsp after polishing it with the DPPP.

From what I was told and read its the safest way to remove a lsp.

I'll be doing a full review on it soon.

I add a little Chemical Guys All Clean+ or Adam's APC to my wash bucket. A few ounces is enough.

Unless an LSP is pretty much shot, the washing process is only one step to getting back to a clean slate for applying a new LSP.

That being said, I like 2oz of OPC to 3oz CG Wash Clear in a foam cannon!

Type: "stripping wax/LSP into the Search function for plenty of info.
You'll be surprised with what will, or will not strip LSP's.

I wanted to try this but the product description states: "Maximizes gloss without stripping wax or sealants"

Does mixing it at a stronger ratio, such as 4 capfuls instead of 1 capful as directed to 4-5 gallons of water in a bucket cause it to strip wax or sealants?

Thanks Bob. The whole dawn/shampoo stripping discussion has about as much place on a detailing forum as the discussion of blue cheese composition of solar bodies has on an astronomy forum.
