View Full Version : how to polish the fake chrome of today's cars?

Way back when you could almost have a car that was almost all chrome. Most companies have gotten away from that and more using as an accent. But the chrome they are using isn't what use to be on them. They have chromed plastic, chrome clad wheels, and even black chrome. How do you polish these. It's a chrome polish still the correct answer? A normal paint polish? If it is really a chrome coating I don't think a paint polish would touch it. However a true chrome polish might be too harsh if it's super thin. Any tips, suggestions?

If you talking about the chrome colored plastic just use a product like m205 to polish but you must be careful also polish by hand cause you could ruin it fast

You can't really "polish" (in the traditional sense) this very thin faux chrome.

Type: fake chrome...
