Lighter cut compound on a harder pad.

All depends on how bad the defects are.
I always start with the least aggressive and work myself up if needed.
One compound doesn't do it all for you, why it's best to have a few different compounds/polishes.
You can also control the cut just by changing to another pad.
It's so important to do a test area that most of us all know.
