Process:
Wash with Ultima Waterless Wash +
Decon with Nanoskin clay towel and Optimum instant detailer
Polish with Scholls S17, Rotary and B&S MF Cut pad
Polish with Rupes, Green B&S pad, and Optimum Opti Coat Pro primer
Coated with Opti Coat Pro

This newly acquired 2011 Mercedes Benz R350 was in need of a permanent protection because the owner loved to detail his vehicle but recently threw his back out so regular claying and waxing was out of the picture. Luckily Opti-coat Pro is there for these kinds of situations providing 5+ years of durability that replaces regular waxing while providing even more protection. He will see me every year for a regular inspection and decontamination of his paint so that he does not have to deal with pains of bending to reach and work on lower panels.

Let's get on with the detail.

Here is the vehicle before starting.

As you can see, winter is taking it's effects on condition of the vehicle

After a wash and my signature 3 step decontamination process. I inspected the paintwork to look for any swirling, hazing or hologramming that may have been present as the client informed me that he had purchased full exterior detailing before this but couldn't not find any evidence of polishing.

The difference is ever so slight on white but in this picture the left side is polished while the right side is still in need of paint correction.

This is the same panel with a halogen light source, you can really tell the clarity brought upon the left side.

The gloss black trim pieces were also a swirly mess. Did my best to bring them to a presentable state while still maintaining enough material for future use.

Paint on quarter panel before:

and during now see if you can spot the difference.

Yes lights have to polished as well

From what I had seen, there was no evidence is even remotely of polisher touching this paint.

The client was most worried about this

http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2880/11989462075_de8bd7e12c_b.jpg

As the pervious detailer told him the hood would have to be repainted. As we can see yes the damage done there is bad but it is correctable with the correct methods.

Wet sanded with 1500 then 3000 grit.

Here half the hood is polished

Here is the other side when finished.

Fender polished while door is waiting it's turn

White really needs the right angle and lighting to show it's defects

After 12 hours here are the results. Didn't get to many pictures as I had already kept the client 3 hours later then scheduled but rather do a good job then a fast job.

Very nice. I love it how you were able to bring back the paint that another detailer wouldn't try...

Great work!!! How are the B&S pads working out with the Rupes??? Any issues with Velcro coming off or the pads causing less smoothness??

It's good, I don't have problems with the velcro as much as I have with the foam of the pad flying everywhere because of the over heating. So yes the rupes is a pad eating monster that preys on the B&S MF pads but the results are worth it and it can be avoided if you change the pads out enough.

Performing great and no problems at all.

Thanks! Great news as I have a ton of B&S 5.5" foam pads and don't plan on using MF pads anytime soon.

Looks good what did you use to get the swirls out of the black part between the two windows?

How does the S17+ compare to Perfect Finish or PF2500? There isn't much info on it available.
