If you're attending my January Detailing Boot Camp Class here is one of the car you'll be working on.

This is a numbers matching, all original 1956 Chevrolet Nomad. The paint is single stage lacquer and filled with swirls and scratches.

Make sure they leave a little bit left so we can finish it on a Thursday Night Makeover. Beautiful ride indeed. Very nice.

I have a lot of cool cars for the class and I have one daily driver that I'll post the picture of tomorrow.

And just to remind... we're not actualy working on the car in the pictures above... we're working on the same model and color but the paint is in need of help to look like the one above.

One of the things I know it's important to do for any car detailing write-up project in order for it to have real value is to fully document the before condition.

Once in a while there will be someone that thinks the cars used in videos and articles are in pristine condition to start with and just to make sure there's no doubt at all, I have found the best way to take the wind out of these people's sails is to first and foremost get the before shots.

Once you buff out a car you cannot go back in time and get the before shots. You can always get the after shots but not so for the before shots.

So to document the true condition of the cars my class will be learning on here at Autogeek's Detailing Boot Camp, here's the before pictures for this 1956 Chevy Nomad. This car is all original and very rare.

Here's the before shots to show the current and true condtion....

Note: In some of these shots the first thing I do is frame-up the shot to show you the full section of the car I'm photographing and then I zoom in and photograph just the swirls to capture all the ugly.

Not only is this car 20 feet long but it has huge body panels and a HUGE roof.

My class certainly has their work cut out for them...

The owner was very happy. I've seen this car at a few of the local car shows and it was also on display here at Detail Fest and it's still looking great.

This is a very rare and expensive car. I never know what I'm going to have here for my students to "learn" on at my Detailing Boot Camp Classes (http://www.autogeek.net/detailing-boot-camp.html) but it's always something cool like this car.

I'm pretty sure these classes are the only place where you get to work on rare classics like this award winning, all original 1956 Nomads.

My next detailing boot camp class is coming up in May 3rd and 4th and there's still a few seats available.

Funny thing as I was talking to ED (owner of the 56) over a year ago about autogeek and the magic thats performed in the garage at a parade we were both in.It took our Master...Mike Phillips to talk him into getting the car in the garage. He like many dont believe there is anything wrong with their paint. Many old-timers are reluctant to allow anyone to touch their car and ED was one.Never to old to learn for the betterment of our cars thanks to Mike and Robert Diterlizzi in the AUTOGEEK GARAGE..."WHERE DISAPPOINTMENT BEGINS AND JOY ENDS":buffing:
