Hey there...I just brought home a 2013 328xi in Mineral Gray. I was wondering if anyone out there has any experience with this paint they'd like to share before I undertake the first detail? I'm looking for products that seem to work well for others. I have both a rotary and D/A polisher and tend to like Menzerna polishes.

Thanks!

Hi Merlin, welcome to AGO.

I own two Jet Black e9x chassis and have worked on quite a few of varying color BMW's.

I can say that I have achieved consistent results with Menzerna and Wolfgang products. I prefer these over the others. I am using a Flex 3401 and Hybrid pads.

Keep me up to date,
Mike

In addition to Menzerna products, Sonax lineup works extremely well - typically I use 3/6 for my light polish and the Sonax premium paint cleanser for general cleanup and paint prep. To complete the Sonax system approach, I also have their carnauba Paste Wax which is easy to use and looks fantastic. One of those great waxes that flies under the radar. The last detail on our white X3, I did one coat of 845 and topped with 2 coats of the Sonax - couldn't be happier. Congrats on the X3 - it's a great vehicle.

Thanks guys. I've been really happy with Menzerna 203, so it sounds like I'll give that a try on this paint. It's in fairly good shape with a few fine lines from what was more than likely a bad wash at the dealer - shocker. 203 with a green pad should take care of that. I might switch from blackfire LSP to Wolfgang to see how that plays.
