Pinpoint Precision Auto Detailing

Over the next 2 days, I would be detailing this beautiful machine.

http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/y415/PinpointPrecisionAutoDetailing/Mobile%20Uploads/3FAA46AB-6868-4058-9A28-3384367B65DD_zpscmhctaiw.jpg (http://s1273.photobucket.com/user/PinpointPrecisionAutoDetailing/media/Mobile%20Uploads/3FAA46AB-6868-4058-9A28-3384367B65DD_zpscmhctaiw.jpg.html)

Client wanted the paint to be perfect (better than what it was) so this time I was going to go all out.

Products used

Washing
2 Buckets Wash method
Chemical Guys Citrus Wash/Gloss to strip down the paint
Lemon IronX for the wheels(the smell is much better now, it still has the same power as the original)
IronX
Pinnacle Clay
Polishing
Flex3401
Makita (For the deeper RIDS and Orange peel removal)
Wolfgang Uber 3.0
Meguiar's M105
Meguiar's M205
Carpro Eraser
DP Paint Coating Polish
Cquartz (2 Coats)
LC CSS Orange Pads
LC CSS White Pads
LC Purple Wool Pad (Makita)

Again I realize I have a dedicated thread already, which it can be found here http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/62417-pinpoint-precision-auto-detailing-show-tell-galleria-20.html

still I think this correction deserved its own thread as well.

Sit back and enjoy the movie......
I mean the write up!
:cruisin:

Now to keep this thread viewable for everyone with slower connections, I will try to make this short as possible. For instance, the washing pictures won't be posted, sorry. Trying to keep it short and less boring.

After carefully washing, stripping and decontaminating the paint completely, wheels and claying every single panel, glass , the car was dried using Cobra waffle towels and Air dried using my huge Blower.
After the clay process....

Car was then moved inside. Photo studio ready, lol. Car getting prepped for surgery.

The paint wasn't that bad but it still needed some attention.

Trunk
This I went with my Makita.
All the paint was measured before anything, for those that are wondering.

He had some deeper scratches in this area (That's what happens when you have cats).

The owner never liked how bad the orange peel looked mostly on this area. Well I explained to him the options, so I went with safely wet sanding the entire front bumper after taking some reading to ensure it was okay. This car even though was 2010, it only had about 5k and garage kept at all times, so the entire car had good amount of clear.

A shot of the front of the car. 1st day I put easily about 18hrs.... I think when I took this shot it was already 1am I can't remember for sure.
http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/y415/PinpointPrecisionAutoDetailing/Mobile%20Uploads/00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000977_zps8kwrwbzm.jpg (http://s1273.photobucket.com/user/PinpointPrecisionAutoDetailing/media/Mobile%20Uploads/00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000977_zps8kwrwbzm.jpg.html)

After all the correction was done, Eraser was used to remove the oils left from the compound and polish. I then rewashed the car using ONR. After all that was done I prepped the paint using DP Prep Coating Polish.

Here is a quick shot after it was done.
http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/y415/PinpointPrecisionAutoDetailing/Mobile%20Uploads/00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000975_zps8wsv5nze.jpg (http://s1273.photobucket.com/user/PinpointPrecisionAutoDetailing/media/Mobile%20Uploads/00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000975_zps8wsv5nze.jpg.html)
and then it was time to apply the first coat of Cquartz

Here is a shot of the 1st coat of Cquartz

(Notice the lower splitter, that's actually paint gone from him hitting a curve 1 week prior. He would be changing that soon anyways.)

http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/y415/PinpointPrecisionAutoDetailing/Mobile%20Uploads/00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000976_zpsy2htzufc.jpg (http://s1273.photobucket.com/user/PinpointPrecisionAutoDetailing/media/Mobile%20Uploads/00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000976_zpsy2htzufc.jpg.html)

2nd day I came back early again to apply the 2nd coat of Cquartz. All wheels as well, were prepped and got a nice layer of CquartZ. I used CarPro Flyby30 in the windows as well.

Final touches were given as well........
50/50

Beauty Shots. It was kind of cloudy but still that wouldn't stop me from taking the final pictures.

Thanks bud. You know I bought 2 of these as a matter of fact at Home Depot. HDX brand and you know what, I am super happy with it. Had for a while and never had a single problem. The bulbs are 500watts, (1k total) and it comes with an extra one just in case. They get pretty hot quickly so I use them to cure the coatings as well ( speed up the process). I love it. I saw at home depot and they had them still for less than $40.00. I am going to get 2 more just in case.

Stunning! Do all GTR's have that bad of orange peel? That's terrible especially for the price of them.

Looks 100x's better now though. :dblthumb2:

Thank you. They are indeed. I personally drove one with one of my VIP customer's car, it never amazed me how fast into a corner I could go in.

Thank you so much. I have done quite few corrections on GT-Rs from 2009 and up and to be honest with you, yes they are. Front and rear bumpers always look terrible but most of the times it's more towards the front bumper. I haven't seen the 2014s.

I can say there is some orange peel on my 2014, not as bad as some cars I've owned my Supra comes to mind as being 'worse' but the Baltic Blue really showed it.

I'm not comfortable with wet sanding at all so unless I take it to someone to do it will just have to stay there :(
