Hey everyone. Not in any type of auto business, just a lover of old cars. I like things the 'old school'way and hope maybe there are some guys/girls here that can relate and answer some questions.

Thanks for the welcomes. This is my 65 GTO showcar. I painted in July 2013. Since its lacquer i'm not really sure what products to use on it. Unlike the 'old days' when there weren't as many products to chose from. I'm sure I will get some info from these forums.

Welcome from another Pittsburgh-area member! Stick around and read a bit, and you'll learn all you need to know about keeping your baby pristine.

Beautiful car. One of our local guys that attends my Thursday night classes just did a 1969 GTO in single stage black urethane.

Check this out.....

Back in Black! 1969 GTO!!! (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ask-expert-featuring-mike-phillips/73934-back-black-1969-gto.html)

As for products, any of the quality brands on The Autogeek.net store will work fine on new Lacquer. I'd add some #7 Meguiar's Show Car Glaze to the mix if it's truly single stage lacquer as lacquer paint loves #7.

Just posted this too...

1965 Ford F100 Extreme Makeover - Detailing Class Truck (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ask-expert-featuring-mike-phillips/74940-1965-ford-f100-extreme-makeover-detailing-class-truck.html)

It's oxidized single stage enamel and will be here in two weeks for a full show car makeover.
