Purging leather releases all contamination from the leather. Like skin we use only natural / water based cleaners that will no damage the leather.

Originally you can see all the grime built up on the leather. Its much darker/ dirtier than the stitching wo we have a reference point to see when we should stop cleaning.

A mixture of AutoGlym Leather Cleaner and a PC 2/ a bristle head. Of course a micro vacuum and wipe down before we began as well.

After cleaning to prevent left over cleaner from evaporating and concentrating.

A light spray of RO water and a clean MF rag is used to give it a "pre-inspection" before conditioning with Connolly Hide Food. You can see how vibrant the leather is on the ares we conditioned already. It is a plush and tacky, not greasy :props:

Upclose to the texture & finish. The deeper colors look great with the stiching!

It was a nightmare too wash too!

Signature Wash Subscription took care of that real quick. :dblthumb2:

Nice work! If you wouldn't mind, I'd love to know where you purchase your autoglym products.

HMMM..."Purging Leather":
A new (to me) phrase...
Perhaps another addition to the always-growing Detailing Lexicon?

IMHO:
-Looks as though this detailing-task turned out real good!

-The comparison between (I'll assume alive Human) skin, and a vehicle's (dead) leather-appointments:
Is fanciful...but erroneous.

:)

Bob, I've decided that I shall call you...Quotemaster Flex! Lol! :-)
I must ask, if you don't mind, what is your profession? College professor?

I myself and not an overly complicated person, but I do enjoy reading your posts as they are sometimes sarcastic and very well written! You are quite philosophical! :-)

Thanks.

Sarcastic? Some say: 'Indubitably'!!
But everyone should know: I never ever intend to be acrimonious. (RE: FUNX...)

Great job! That leather looks wonderful. I think I need to do this to my own Range Rover leather. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to your next!

Happy detailing!

Hi Flash, ol'Buddy...

Here's hoping everything's going well with you and yours,

Skin is a bad word for what I'm doing I guess... Lets use hide. Purging is a good word for the cleaning action going on. So I used it.

All I know is conditioning is more effective when leather is clean. We also know that water.... Is the safest cleaner to use on any sort of "leather."
