Do you guys remember numerous posts about tiny pits. Assuming these are not sand or paint chips, some claimed that they were "revealed" by cleaning up the scratches and swirls.
Here was my experience today. I did hood on a black Nissan Maxima (2006) with a Rotary, Wool cutting pad and Menzerna IP. Result was very clean and glossy except for minor holograms in the sun. I tried, once again, the suggestion of finishing with the DA, and once again, it did cure the holgrams, but with Meg's 80 and a LC CCS White pad, I got a hazing and PITS. I thought the guy who suggested that they were being instilled by the pad or product was nuts, but here I had the same thing happen.
I switched to the Rotary using the zenith method and a Tan pad (EDIT: Meuiars 9006 pad) and cleared the haze, "pits" and holograms with Megs 80.
But the mystery of instill pits remains.
