A local forum member approached me about having his 999R corrected for the first time after seeing the 1199 Panigale I did recently. Owner decided on an 80%+ correction and we went with a 2-step correction to achieve this. About 7 hours went into this job.

As it looked upon arrival

No wax present at all on the paint....no water beading whatsoever, bike needed some love.

After washing and claying I brought it inside to get it ready for correction work. Plenty of defects to deal with.

Starting to show improvement.

All exposed carbon corrected as well.

After compounding and before the final polishing, here are a few sun shots. The sun was setting so I got what sun pics I could. The final polishing would bring more gloss and clarity to the paint.

Looks better than new. I know. I have uncrated and assembled Ducatis before. And they come out of the crate in lousy condition.

Very difficult to get all the different surfaces to look that good. Some of the plastics are hard, some so soft that scratch just looking at them.

And how did you get the clutch cage so clean? They are notorious for throwing clutch plate dust everywhere.

I hope that the owner is the happiest guy in town.

I'm not a bike person at all but I remember seeing one of those at one of our Dragon runs 2 yrs ago and was blown away with that bikes presense! This particuar one was black, I had never seen anything like this so I walked over to the guy and said "what's this bike equivelant to as a car?", he told me a Ferrari Enzo and I agreed (although the bike is faaaaar better lookin' than an Enzo)

Great job on the bike, bet the owner was very happy!

Looking good! That bike was a swirled up mess and you turned it around. I think you may have achieved better than 80% correction.

:superdrool: Another great job from Immaculate Reflections. I think that's one of the best looking bikes ever made. I hope the owner is enjoying how many more heads that bike now turns.

Does the red look like an 8bit nintendo game to anyone else??? Is it my computer or the resizing of the pics or... just how that red reacts in a photo? Hmmm any camera junkies know why this is because looking at other details in the pictures they arent all blocky looking like the red paint is???

Perhaps its your monitor....they look fine to me. I haven't done anything different with this red bike vs other red vehicles and this is the first time I've heard this..

Yeah something with the monitor settings I looked again from the app on my phone and it looks great so I'll have to play with it and figure it out. It's weird though it's just the red... looks very digitized I guess is the word.
