I was excited to hear my nephew was going to be working at our local import dealership. The better one that sells porsche, audi, mercedes, etc. Anyway I was like sweet, I can show you a few things. He tells me all they do for a new sale is run them through car wash, dry them, clean windows, tire shine and vacuum. I said, they call that detailing? Smh. I asked, what about the showroom? They get other people to do them. I'm sure now it isn't the quality even near what we would do.

I would recommend you having a sit down with him and distinguishing the difference between a dealership clean up guy, and a professional detailer. This could help the longevity of his career if he chooses to pursue it.

Also, introduce him to AG so he can see first hand.

Just to note...

AG is the store, (Autogeek), that's a great resource, AGO, (AutoGeekOnline), is the forum, I'd introduce him to the forum too...

Also, have him read these two articles,

DISO = The Dealership Installed Swirl Option (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/hot-topics-frequently-asked-questions/28401-diso-dealership-installed-swirl-option.html)

Note I worded this one VERY carefully, it' not really the type of article you scan...

The story of 3 H's - Horrendous, Horror Story and Hack Detailers... (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ask-expert-featuring-mike-phillips/28142-story-3-h-s-horrendous-horror-story-hack-detailers.html)

Best of luck to him! He's going to have the opportunity to learn a lot.
