I think we all can agree, that we prefer the body style of 15 and 21.

Why on earth would i pay $320 for a body style of the PC.....
Just because it is branded "Rupes"
No thanks

The handle on the top of the 21 is nice.

I believe the throw on the GG and porter cable is 4mm.

The throw on the GG6 is 5/16" or 8 mm.

I have the 5" bp, the 3" would be killer.

The fit of the 3" LC hydrotech pads are exceptional on the 75E. They fit absolutely perfect. the velcro material sizing is perfect to apply 100% of the pressure to 100% of the pad. But like any perfect fitting pad you just have to be aware around tight areas as to not rub the machine's backing plate on other area's of the car. In most case's the rupes pads are the perfect match for this machine with their conical shape.

I have certain body lines on my car that are perfect for the 3" hydrotech pads. So yes I have been hindered by 4" pads in the past compared to 3". Rupes even offers a pneumatic 1" orbital polisher for sanding that if you cut up pad's you can polish with. If you search youtube you will see that it actually WILL correct paint even though its not a Dual Action machine (just orbital).
Thanks for your reply.

When the circumstances dictate...
Sounds like I'm good to go with some of the LC-pads, rather than all RUPES.

Why would they make a 3" backing plate when they can sell you an expensive 3" machine.

True. Just wondering if it is similar to other machines that have interchangeable backing plates

from what i read on DI, they're selling the 3" backing plate separate and claim it fits on the 15/21. I contacted them and they said it'd work..

Who said it will work? DI or Rupes? Curious, cause a 3" BP is smaller than the shroud that protects your fingers from getting chopped off.

3" BP on 21mm of throw will be very interesting.

:iagree: I have the 15 and have no intention of buying the Duetto. No need for it. It would be a step down from a 15 or 21. Maybe the 75E at some point, but I'm using my PC for 3" and wax for now.

I agree. I have the 21. I will consider the 75E; however, the Duetto would be redu

Waiting to see how the more experienced Rupes users play with the duetto as another combo. 21 is a work horse, thinking the 12E would be for isolated areas where something not as big is preferable. Also I'm sure the duetto would be an absolute pleasure to use instead of grinding away at speed 6 on a griots. You can never have too many toys!

I emailed them asking if what they have in the description was accurate and Reece responded with

Patrick,

Thank you for the email, I would be happy to help. The LHR75 Backing Plate will work with the 15ES and 21ES Polishers. This will allow you to use 3" pads with the large orbit of the Big Foot Polishers! If you have any other questions or concerns please let me know. Take care and Happy Holidays!

No plans on getting it anytime soon. I have a 3 inch BP on my PCXP and it has more than enough power for tight spots.

It just seems like there are much more useful things spend my hard earned money on than a $300 3 inch.
